Welcome Margie Boule readers!

I'm not expecting a heavy increase in traffic since the Oregonian ran a lengthy direct link. But since today's Margie Boule column is the most exposure this crazy little blog will ever likely receive, I've rolled out the welcome mat (see above). It's the best Google's image search had to offer. On the other hand, maybe I should have gone with the one covered in cartoon ponies or another emblazoned with the words "COME BACK WITH A WARRANT!"

Anyway, will any curious readers track down this blog? We shall see. If this is your first time in these parts, here's a quick tour, complete with unnecessary bullet points:

  • Click here for a rundown and the history of Welcome to Blog. As you can tell, it specializes in goofy photos and, as a result, may take a while downloading. You may also have been hit with a pop-up ad after heading over here. Sorry about that. I'm working on it. I hate pop-up ads more than Indiana Jones hates Nazis.

  • If you're in search of further information and photos about the abandoned Nissan that belongs to Mr. Rodriguez-Luna, click here for the original post that drew Ms. Boule to this ongoing "saga." I also ran a brief update on it last week. Later this evening, I'll run photos of the car's current condition and I may finally summon up the courage to search the glove box. Stay tuned.

  • As you can tell, this place is a far cry from Jack Bog, Blue Oregon and the like. While they're the best of the best in Oregon's corner of the Blogosphere, I'd like to think this is the state's most self-indulgent blog. If you've made it this far, you may also enjoy the post below about Forest Park's mysterious "Stone House." If you're a fan of hometown literary hero Chuck Palahniuk, you may enjoy this recent post about a remake of "Fight Club" that will be released later this year in India.

  • If photos of Japanese arcade machines are more your style, click here. Welcome to Blog contains over three billion photos. To dive further down the rabbit hole and a look at shots covering everything for last summer's Goonies reunion in Astoria to Disneyland's talking trash can "Push," click here for the archives.

  • It's after one in the morning and I have to be up for work in the morning. I read the column a few minutes ago. As much as I hate the sound of my own voice, it comes through much worse in print (as you can no doubt tell). A million thanks go out to Ms. Boule for writing about the Nissan. i just wish the story was more interesting.

If you have any questions, comments or reservations, feel free to drop them in comments area below or send me an email at the address above.

With all this reckless, half-witted, late night, self-deprecating, self-promotion out of the way, I'm going to bed.
